No new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Wednesday by the University of the Nations Kona, leaving the total number of cases associated with the campus at 34.
Results are expected today for the 492 adults and children tested Tuesday by the state Department of Health and Premier Medical Group at the Kailua-Kona campus, said Johnny Gillespie, UofN Kona spokesperson.
Meanwhile, Premier Medical Group will return to the campus today to test the remaining 200 staffers and their family members who were unable to be tested Tuesday when kits ran out. Approximately 300 students, whom Gillespie said were all tested upon arrival in late September and entering a 14-day quarantine, will also undergo a second round of testing.
“We will know which way this is going tomorrow,” Gillespie said Wednesday evening.
All active cases remain in isolation and the campus remains on lockdown.
